Jim Davidson “jembe jim” studies world percussion and plays drums of many cultures, usually the djembe, an African goblet shaped hand drum. The African djembe drum ensemble also includes dununba, large barrel shaped bass drums. Jim has studied with many masters of West African and Middle Eastern percussion including Mamady Keita, Famoudou Konate, Menes Yahuda, Baba Chuckie Joseph, Quint Lange, Sogbety Diomande, Mark Cheater and Glen Velez. Jim plays in a few bands and he leads monthly drum circles in Lambertville, NJ.
